So for all of the protesting and publicity, for the hiring of lawyers, for the multiple televised appearances from civil rights leaders, etc. etc, the State Attorney Angela Corey hands down an indictment, Murder in the 2nd Degree and the crowd roars! But is it all smoke and mirrors? Is someone pulling our chain?
Overview of Florida Voluntary Manslaughter Laws
Florida state laws establish the criminal offense of manslaughter when a homicide, the killing of a human being, does not meet the legal definition of murder. Manslaughter, unlike murder, does not require evidence of the defendant’s premeditation or “depraved mind” with disregard for human life; instead, the state requires proof of either voluntary manslaughter or involuntary manslaughter.
Voluntary manslaughter describes a homicide intentionally committed while in the midst of a provocation. The prosecutor must show a sudden, unexpected event or circumstance serving as a provocation. As a result of the provocation, the defendant must have felt a temporary anger, heat of passion, or emotion that immediately resulted in an intent to kill or an intent to commit the act that resulted in the victim’s death.
Overview of Florida Involuntary Manslaughter Laws
When a homicide, the killing of a human being, does not meet the legal definition of murder, Florida state laws allow a prosecutor to consider a manslaughter charge. The state establishes two types of manslaughter: voluntary and involuntary. While voluntary manslaughter describes an intentional act performed during a provocation or heat of passion, involuntary manslaughter does not require an intent to kill or even an intent to perform that act resulting in the victim’s death.
To establish involuntary manslaughter, the prosecutor must show that the defendant acted with “culpable negligence.” Florida statutes define culpable negligence as a disregard for human life while engaging in wanton or reckless behavior. The state may be able to prove involuntary manslaughter by showing the defendant’s recklessness or lack of care when handling a dangerous instrument or weapon, or while engaging in a range of other activities that could lead to death if performed recklessly.
Example: If the defendant handles a loaded gun without any knowledge of whether the gun is loaded, and he later discharges the gun into a group of people, the defendant’s actions likely meet the recklessness requirement for a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
Florida state laws also establish involuntary manslaughter if the prosecutor shows that the defendant used excessive force during self-defense or the defense of another person. The prosecution and defense can look at the facts and circumstances of the killing to determine whether the defendant reasonably believed that self-defense was necessary; if not necessary, the state might proceed with an involuntary manslaughter charge.
Instead of choosing either of these, Angela Corey chose to charge George Zimmerman with Second degree murder.
Overview of Florida Second Degree Murder Laws
In Florida, state laws establish several types of homicide, the unlawful killing of a human being. The state prosecutes homicides as murders and manslaughters — it may be helpful to know the multiple types of murders established by state law and understand the differences among them. In particular, second degree murder lacks the premeditation often required for the prosecution of a first degree murder.
To prove second degree murder, a prosecutor must show that the defendant acted according to a “depraved mind” without regard for human life. Florida state laws permit the prosecution of second degree murder when the killing lacked premeditation or planning, but the defendant acted with enmity toward the victim or the two had an ongoing interaction or relationship. Unlike first degree murder, second degree murder does not necessarily require proof of the defendant’s intent to kill.
State law specifically requires a charge of second degree murder if the victim dies during the commission of one of the felony crimes specified by statute. These felonies include burglary, home-invasion robbery, kidnapping, sexual battery, and a number of other offenses. To establish second degree murder, the prosecutor must show that the victim died as a result of an act committed by a non-participant in the felony. If the defendant or another criminal participant in the felony caused the unlawful killing, state law requires a charge of first degree murder rather than second degree murder. Florida uses this law to deter and punish unintended deaths as a result of felonious activities.
Defenses to Second Degree Murder Charges
• Justifiable use of deadly force to defend against a felony committed against a person or property
• Excusable homicide committed by accident
• Spontaneous or negligent killing that might qualify as manslaughter instead of murder
Above are defense Attorney Mark Omara’s possible defense strategies. Compare the statutes of Voluntary and Involuntary Manslaughter with the Second Degree Murder Overview and choice is obvious. Angela Corey made a poor decision.

When I think about the reason for this over-indictment it reminds me of the age old adage, “there’s always a little truth in every lie” especially in judicial process. Just as in the Anthony case when the masses were screaming for her blood, the State of Florida handed down an indictment, first-degree murder with possible death penalty. Total overkill.
In order to get a guilty verdict, the jurors must agree 100%. Had Casey Anthony been charged with manslaughter, it would only take 6 out of 12 jurors in order to get a guilty verdict.
Maybe Corey is thinking Zimmerman is just a little bit guilty? Yes, that’s the ticket. She can hand down the over-indictment to please the masses but she’ll prove involuntary or voluntary manslaughter and hope for the best. At least she’ll look as if she tried.

After observing the Florida judicial process over the last 3 years, I question the State, their laws and their judicial process.
When I ask myself how can Marissa Alexander, who shot a bullet in the air to scare off her abusive husband be convicted of three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and the same court system allow Greyston Garcia, who chased down a man who stole radios out of his truck and stabbed him to death, walk free on Stand Your Ground Law, I came to this conclusion. The husband wasn’t in commission of a crime unlike Greyston Garcia’s victim who was.
If I’m right, George Zimmerman will be found guilty, jailed and fined because 17 year-old Trayvon Martin wasn’t in commission of a crime when Zimmerman met up with him.
Garcia claimed that his victim swung the bag of loot at him, so therefore he was scared for his life. The “bag of loot” was considered a weapon.
On the other hand, if it’s true, Martin approached and circled his truck while he was on the phone with the 911 dispatcher, had he shot Martin then, Stand Your Ground Law would have protected him in a heartbeat, but he didn’t.

It is political and I did know that you guys were saying that a while ago too but at the time I hadn’t read GZ’s statement. I wanted to see if Angela Corey had something new and exciting up her sleeve. So far..not too much. Not so exciting. lol
I’m glad we can agree.
It’s an overkill indicted which she made to please the masses, IMO. But I still think GZ should have been charged with one of the Manslaughter statutes.

This is my honest opinion.
I can’t imagine Zimmerman not being arrested. I think all of this would not
have happened if he had. It was almost a month after Trayvon was killed and
I think that someone should have come up and spoke about it, like they do in most cases.

I’ve always heard thing are only about politics or money.
But, when someone is shot and killed, it wasn’t going to be heard of. Not only in this case but in CA, the Kelly I think Thompson case where the police slaughtered him, tasered him to death and threw him in the trunk, if this isn’t known then the public finds out, it does make them very and really hardto trust nyone.

I don’t believe Zimmerman left to go to the store intending to kill someone that day, but the minute he got out of his truck, talking to the 911 dispatcher and says these assholes always get away, I believe when he did that he intended to kill him.

I personally think you can not simply compare the case of CA and GZ. They are both diff on so many levels. The MSM is what IMO is only or close to only thing comparable.
This is a SYG case, self defense case. GZ never has stated he didnt shoot TM. It is very evident from all docs released thus far that TM agressed first, as HE PUNCHED GZ in the nose. Up til that point, no one can prove anything was done against the law. (In info that has been released) Even at the Bond hearing, Gilbreath on the stand stated under questioning, that the STATE had NOTHING to prove their case. This is all about getting GZ arrested, and then on to the civil case. If you have a open mind and read all the docs with an open mind, you will see that Serino didnt even say the same things in his OFFICIAL SPD Reports! LOL, thats not an opinion on that, thats a fact

It is not very evident who was the aggressor. If some woman (my size, lol) is intent to follow me and I don’t know who she is or why she’s doing this, she better be ready to get her nose punched too. Can you at least admit what Zim was doing is strange?
But all kidding aside, Why do you think Serino and the Female officer keep asking Zim this question, “Why didn’t you tell him who you were?” Zim had at least 2 opportunities to inform Trayvon who he was so he wouldn’t fear him. But for some strange reason Zimmerman doesn’t understand why this is important.
He says only once because he feared TM. If he FEARS TM, why does he get out of his vehicle for ANY REASON?

First off, GZ denies depression or admits to have ADHD yet admits it to CVS officer Lie
CS asks: Did you ever have LE training? GZ says he watched a NW-Power Point presentation.
Hmm…first time I heard that?
CS tells GZ, I want to know what was on your mind. GZ goes into a long detail regarding the Taafe Incident. OMG! That’s how he starts every interview.
CS informs GZ that his victim was a skinny kid 17yo kid who had a bright future, not a goon. He lays out pictures of Trayvon to show him what he did, trying to get some kind of sympathy from GZ. Nothing, Nada, None from GZ that I could hear.
GZ says he’s 5’8″ and weighs 194lbs CS tells him TM is 6’0 and weighs 150lbs but actually we know from the autopsy report TM is 5’11 and weighs 158.
CS continues to get a choke or cough or some verbal reaction as he continues to show GZ pictures. No sympathy what so ever from George Zimmerman.
I could understand if GZ was a soldier and has seen pictures of death before, but he hasn’t yet he doesn’t even say I’m so sorry this happened. Who is this guy!
CS mentions 25-30 punches. I don’t know if GZ said this to someone else but anyway, CS asks him how many times were you punched in the nose, a couple? GZ says he doesn’t remember but doesn’t mention TM holding his nose. Note* GZ doesn’t deny 25-30 punches.
CS tells GZ there’s only one injury to TM’s hands.
Doesn’t sound like Mixed Martial Arts fighting to me.
CS tells GZ that there was arguing before the attack. GZ doesn’t deny it.
As for the head bashing wound, CS tells GZ – you’d expect a skull fracture.
CS tells GZ he cannot detain TM legally
CS tells GZ his injuries are practically non-existent. LOL
CS asks GZ about battery on a LEO charge. GZ explains he was in a bar drinking with an under-age friend. He was pulled outside of the bar, GZ confronted the guy. The guy was an ATF agent on a sting operation to arrest the bartenders. GZ didn’t know this and found himself under arrest.
Female Officer continually asked him, “why didn’t you tell TM you were NWC?” She goes on to say he had 2 opportunities. She told him “TM perceives you as a threat.”
Asked about the circling of the truck, how close was TM at that time? GZ says 1 car length.
CS tells GZ again, “he’s not a goon” GZ says he didn’t tell him anything “out of fear”.
GZ denies running after TM. He was looking for an address.
Note* It sure sounded like he was running.
I love this part because I said this the other day!
Female officer says “There’s only 3 streets in that subdivision” GZ says he has ADHD and he forgot. HA! This is when Serino catches the first lie when he says he doesn’t suffer from any kind of mental illness. Serino gets info on his medication, Adderal.
CS asks GZ, how long was he suffocating you? GZ says it felt like forever.
Again for some reason, GZ repeats the Taafe incident.
CS mentions to GZ about what it would mean if you challenge a person. He tells GZ more things were going on prior to the punch.
CS asks “Did he mention the word “homie”? GZ says TM asked “do you have a problem” and GZ said to him “no I don’t have problem”. That’s when Female Officer says but you did have a problem, “Why didn’t you tell him you were NWC? It didn’t occur to you that TM was concerned about you? No response heard from GZ.
CS asked GZ what happened when you tried to go into LE. GZ goes on to talk about how he wanted to help a cousin who was in jail, how he wanted to mentor and make a difference.
Note* I have a hunch GZ was rejected and that’s why he asked.
I’ll be back with Part 2 & 3. I am so proud of detective Chris Serino for asking the right questions. Not sure but I THINK that CS was playing games with GZ telling him he has a secret witness. I know this is Detective 101 so we shall see.

The reason I was comparing Casey Anthony to George Zimmerman was because of the over-indictments. That’s the comparison I was trying to make.
As I pointed out in my article, IF KC was charged with manslaughter and not Murder One, you only need 6 jurors to vote guilty for a conviction. Chances are she would have been convicted. JMO
I don’t understand why it’s a bad thing for Trayvon Martin to ask Zimmerman “why are you effing following me?” or “do you have an effing problem”?
At least Trayvon Martin has common sense. If ANYONE was in that position they’d want to know too.
After hearing GZ, I hate to say this but this guy is NUTZ! He hasn’t a thread of common sense in his whole body. I feel like I’m making fun of someone who is mentally disabled and it doesn’t feel good but since the State of Florida gave him a license to carry a gun, I’m really angry.
I thought there were laws in place that says mentally disabled people do not get a license to carry a gun. If you can’t remember what you did 2 days ago ON THE DAY you shot a person, you must be mentally ill and shouldn’t own a gun.
Are we going to start teaching our children, “Ah honey, now if you see someone following you don’t run, it’s probably just the Neighborhood watch guy” and make sure you don’t ask him any questions because he might shoot and kill you” “Okay baby?” Oh child molesters will have a field day!

IMO… TM was the one trying to assert the SYG law & GZ brought a GUN to a FIST fight & that is why they charged him the way they did. (smoke)
JB I think you are right about the smoke & mirrors, they are going to slap him on the wrist, but give him a permanent record (mirrors) to appease the masses & distract us from the real issues going on in this country.
GZ has not helped his case with the code talking, (where have we seen that before) about the defense fund, on a recorded line no less, it shows collusion & brings into question his whole account of the events leading up to TM’s death. We’ll see when they put it all together at trial (if it gets that far) some say it won’t & he’ll cop a plea.
They want ot sweep this under the rug & make it go away quietly. (no riots)

I’ll just have to be content knowing he won’t be able to legally carry a firearm. That’s my biggest concern because after hearing the Serino interview I’m convinced Zim is mentally unstable. The whole time I was listening to him speak, I just wanted to shake him and make him understand what his actions caused. I really don’t think he gets it but THEN you hear him on the phone wheeling and dealing his money like he’s Mark Zuckerberg..lol .. I don’t know.

JB, ADHD diag has been around for along time now. My youngest dtr is 24 and was diag when she was 8. And it had been talked about for a few yrs before that.
Also, never having shot and killed anyone, I wouldnt know what I would be able to answer or not. I would really not be suprised at all of the shock he was in too. Did you not also here Serino telling him some of the bad things he prob would experience? I am really shocked that you would even make a statement that after hearing him speak that you are convinced he is mentally unstable. I am sure he is, he just went thru a tramatic situation, no matter what anyone thinks of him.

I appreciate what Judge Napolitano pointed out. It’s not against the law to sit there like a potted plant. It’s not against the law to talk in code over the phone but “IMO” it’s unethical for the GOVERNMENT to “sit there like a potted plant” and ignore a covert operation taking place in Volusia county jail.
If the Zims were drug dealers and the GOV had inside information that a suspected 2nd degree murderer could possibly escape his court date it would be unethical to not report this to the Judge.
It’s not what Judge Napolitano thinks, it’s what Judge Lester thinks. It’s his call, it’s his court.
Judge Lester decided the Zims were being deceitful and I agree, even Pappa Zim. Because he knew his wife got money from GZ & SZ.
As long as the media and the politicians keep spinning their own agendas there will never be justice in this case.

You said your daughter was diagnosed 16 years ago? Was she prescribed Ritalin? That was the drug of choice at one time in 1976 when I was in pediatrics. Parents were coming in asking for help for their unruly children then. I believe that’s when the disease ADD was being introduced and kicked around, so you’re right, it’s not as new as I thought but I’m surprised Pappa Zim would allow his son to use those types of meds.
I know the doctors that I worked for were not so easily convinced. I remember thinking it was appalling to give children speed. It’s addictive.
So does it mean if you were diagnosed at a young age with ADD or ADHD, does that mean you’re doomed to be on medication all of your life? Hmm..
Well..if this is true, I hope the NRA and the government learn something from this case and add ADHD as a disease that disallows you to own a gun because “decision making” is a big part of how we fit into society. If ADHD causes a person to make bad decisions then we should all be warned much like schizophrenia. IMHO

ADHD affects 5% of world’s population. Usually the symptoms can be visible in children but more than 70% of them are fine by the age. Many of the famous celebrities are diagnosed with ADHD while they are young. So don’t worry, the next time when your child is diagnosed with ADHD.

But anyways, I really dont mind that she is in the likes of many intelligent people, and she is doing fine thank you. Ya know it really shows when people talk about someone being on a med for the rest of their life that they really are just doing that blowing wind, that is until they or a loved one needs it. hmmm I know a bunch of folks if werent for their meds, wouldnt be alive. JB, I’m really angry right now but I’ll do my best to keep this kind. I don’t have personal experience with ritalin or any of those drugs but I can read. It is not addictive, according to studies, unless it is not used as prescribed. It isn’t one of those meds you can just quit cold turkey, perhaps, but you have to back off many meds carefully. But, even if it is, how ethical is if for someone from the medical field to say the things you are saying about this drug and people with ADD. Maybe you’ve never needed medical intervention but there is a huge population, so large we wouldn’t be able to house them all in prison as you seem to be suggesting. If I misunderstand, I apologize. But, Mimi took it the same way. I used to care for a little boy that was put on ritalin and I would hate to have him read what you’re saying here. Also for your information, Napolitano isn’t even sitting on a bench or running for a position so I have no idea why you’d be saying he’s politically motivated. He’s one of the law professors or former ones that is saying this case doesn’t have a leg to stand on. I have yet to see one reputable attorney back Crump and crew. Even the media is bailing out, most of them. You really need to read the docs, listen to the audios of all the witnesses and anything relevant, including the laws, before you convict someone. I remember a time when you lambasted someone for calling Casey mentally unstable when they didn’t have a psychology degree and had never met her.

Why do you think Serino and the Female officer keep asking Zim this question, “Why didn’t you tell him who you were?” Zim had at least 2 opportunities to inform Trayvon who he was so he wouldn’t fear him. But for some strange reason Zimmerman doesn’t understand why this is important.
He says only once because he feared TM. If he FEARS TM, why does he get out of his vehicle for ANY REASON?

I did notice that the officer asked if he, Zimmerman had a flashlight and Zimmerman said he did
but it wasn’t working, the pfficer said it is now, sometime you have to hit it a couple of times.
If George had his flashlight and he did, he wouldn’t want Trayvon to know where was,
especially if he was so in fear for his life.
I based my opinion of George Zimmerman on the fact that he’s an irresponsible gun owner. He said he forgot he was carrying his gun when he shot Trayvon Martin. No responsible gun owner would forget he’s carrying a deadly weapon but GZ did.
He tends to make bad decisions, he was caught being deceitful at his bond hearing. He purposely illiicited the help of his wife and sister to move funds from a PayPal acct set up by his brother.
he chose to get out of his vehicle to chase a person who he considered to be a thug. He has bad judgment as proven when he attacked an ATF agent in a bar where there were several under-age people were drinking. He admits he was drinking with one of them. The one he was drinking with was taken out of the bar. He decided to help his friend. He inserted himself in a sting operation. Another bad decision for GZ. He was arrested for battery against an LEO but managed to plea out to a lesser charge.
I listened intently to the Serino-Zimmerman tapes that Mr. O’Mara posted on his site. After listening to Zimmerman’s blaze’ comments and his lack of empathy towards a young person he shot 2 days before gave me good insight into the person he is.
I would expect a person who shot someone, especially a person who was innocent of any crime, to be crying and upset while looking at pictures. In Part I of the audio tape, I hear none of that.
In Part 1 of the interview, Serino asked a simple question. If he had any mental disorders. He denied having to take Adderal for ADHD. ADHD in itself isn’t a bad thing but you should disclose this when asked by a homicide detective, especially when it’s you who is under investigation for murder. Why didn’t he? Another bad decision for GZ. I refuse to give Mr. Zimmerman any more excuses for his lack of good common sense.
Instead of focusing on what Crump is doing, I’m trying to focus on the crime itself not the distractions.

so nice to see you. Exactly. In Part 3 when GZ tries to say he wasn’t following and he was going back to the truck when he realized his flashlight wasn’t working. Then Serino points out that by the sounds on the 911 call it took Zimmerman 84 seconds to walk 30 feet back to his car.
He says he was trying to get his flashlight to work because he was scared to walk in the dark on the walk-thru path.
The female officer says, “You didn’t worry about that before when you were walking on the walk-thru” Ah ha! Excellent point.

Serino interview 2/27/2012 asked George did he have a flashlight.
He said he did but it was dead. That’s at the audio a little before the pause sign on the tape.
So, he was going to look for the address (which addrss and what for? ) to give to the dispatcher, but he wasn’t going to be there anyway, he was in route to find Trayvon in the total dark and find an address in the total dark because his flashlight was dead, as I said Serino told him it was working now and that like his you have to smack it around a little to make it come on.
Was that some of the noises we were hearing, like knocking on the doors in the 911 tapes, you think? Anyway George never said it came on.
There is no way to avoid the politics involved in this case. I’m sorry to say this case has taken us (& me) back to the ’60′s race wars in Florida. I’m 55 yrs old.

It’s so true, Trayvon could have been anybody’s son. As for TM wearing a hoodie, well it was raining, so why not wear a hoodie. It’s only 7:00pm, not midnight, the entire complex is mixed neighborhood, so surely there will be 17yo’s walking the neighborhood either because they live there or they are visiting someone. I agree with what the Neighborhood Watch council when they said Trayvon should not have been reported as suspicious.
He doesn’t fit in the “suspicious” category. And of course, Neighborhood watch does not condone carrying a firearm either.
By the way GZ keeps referring back to that Taafe incident, it seems like he’s paranoid.

Please dont take this as me trying to be ugly. I am just gonna say it, maybe since you live in an area that has had high crime, you see things different than some of us. I truly believe that life experiences give us the reasons we feel as we do in various situations. I have been catching up and forgive me if I misquote, but where you state about crime being whatever, you dont care as long as you have your rights to walk down street (paraphrasing sorry) I can understand to a point where your coming from. My family and friends and possible myself are on those roads. Like the commercials say, buzzed driving is drunk driving. If one of my children were in that situation, I would want them to care enough to let me know.

Tomorrow’s bail hearing will be interesting. Will GZ appear in civilian clothes, will he get bail (and if he does, what will the bail be set at)? If bail is permitted what terms will the judge establish? My guess is the judge will grant Zimmerman bail but the bail will be raised, and there will be very strict guidelines. I can’t see the judge keeping Zimmerman in jail until trial.
On another note, I haven’t seen any posts from you on Jose Baez’s book. I find the idea of this man peddling a book about his experience in this case vile. There was no justice for Caylee so what story is he telling? His perceptions, unproven claims, his “version” of the truth. Baez is using this book as a way of redeeming himself in the eye of the public, while turning a profit. His book reminds me of the OJ Simpson book – there should be a boycott, a demand made to the publisher to shred it, and a boycott of any bookseller carrying it!

Judge Lester hasn’t made a decision yet..He’s taking his time to look over the evidence. I think that’s fair. He has a lot to think about.
IMO, He’s probably still thinking about that passport issue. To me, that’s the most crucial error made by the defense regardless of O’Mara’s explanation. I feel certain had this been Jose Baez, he would have been sanctioned.

Frist GZ – no ruling on bail is not a “no”, so my guess is the judge will grant it unless he finds there is reasonable doubt about GZ honoring the bail terms, or his personal safety in light of the evidence that has been released to the public.
On the Casey Anthony verdict and Jose Baez, my comments were not about Casey’s guilt or innocence. I was speaking specifically about Baez trying to make money on the death of a child who’s death has not been explained. Something happened to Caylee. Someone in the family knows what happened, and tossed the poor child like trash. Jose Baez floated “theory” about abuse at the hands of George Anthony – not proven fact. Nor has anyone in the medical profession given Casey Anthony a medical pass on her guilt or innocence based on her mental state. Saying your client is not guilty, she’s just a fantacist is not a defense. Fatacists can lie about murder or accidental death. For over 30 days the mother of that child lied, but she’s functioning in all ways aside from that. Doing just fine after the trail in hiding.The prosecution put forth their case, and the jury decided. It is what it is, but Jose Baez is scum for trying to profit from it. I don’t buy Jose Baez’s assessment and I won’t buy his book.

Well, if Nancy Grace heard it, it HAS to be true!….LOL…I heard effing coon….it may not be able to be enhanced to perfection, and sometimes people hear what they want, but it seemed clear to me and many others. It doesn’t matter much except they could have charged him with a hate crime…and still could. It doesn’t change a muder charge (of some level) either way. I think they are waiting for it to cool down first before they discuss that any further. Who knows. I doubt he’ll get bond now. He shouldn’t….so many others wouldn’t in the same situation. We need consistant LE practices across this country. They aren’t trained or paid enough, however and that’s not just an opinion

About the Anthony case, you have a right to your own opinion. And I want to say, I understand exactly what you mean when you say, someone in that family knows what happened to Caylee. I agree.
When I first heard about little Caylee Anthony was missing, my 1st thought was KC was hiding Caylee from her parents. I was one of the few who truly thought that Caylee was alive somewhere living with her real father. That was my first impression but when the child’s body was found Dec 11th, I was livid, I was hoping Casey would get the death penalty.
It wasn’t until 2 days or so after that, when I learned Kronk had reported something suspicious in that location 3 times before in mid-August is when I started having strong suspicions because that part of Suburban drive had been searched in July and no one found a body. From there the facts weren’t adding up. It was obvious to me that G & C had to know something.
Like you I was thinking the whole family knew what happened to Caylee. As other facts began to surface, KC with no history of child neglect, 1000′s of pictures of her baby girl all over MySpace, I began to think..This girl is not hiding her daughter which is something I would expect from an unwed mother if she didn’t want her baby. I just didn’t believe Casey put her hands on her to kill her. I thought of an accident with cover up..but not murder.
MassMom, it would take a few days to tell you more about the things that some very smart people here found that added more doubt, not to mention there wasn’t any physical evidence that said KC killed Caylee. That was the bottomline and I’m so happy the jury got it right.
As for George being a molester, IMO, it was the only thing that explained not reporting his grandchild child drowned. Why the 30 days? To hide evidence of molestation that the ME would have found in an autopsy. GA being an ex-homicide cop, we figured..who better than him to know how to do this. How to hide a body and manipulate evidence. As for Cindy, I think she learned the truth around July 3rd when she wrote the message to Casey on MySpace but that was always debatable. I’m not sure about her.
I totally understand your feelings when it comes to people making money off of a dead child. That within itself is horrible but Jose Baez of all of the key players in that case, was the one who was ridiculed and berated the most. Almost as badly as KC and all he was doing was his job which was to defend his client. In the end, he succeeded. So I think he earned it.
BTW, did you read Ashton’s book? I’m sure he’s made lots of money from his book not to mention the upcoming Lifetime movie. Ashton has profitted a great deal, don’t you think? Rest assured, you are not alone, Jose Baez isn’t very well liked so I’m certain he won’t earn half the money Ashton did so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. But I know I’m buying his book. It should be very interesting. I’m really looking forward to it.

I don’t think Casey has any mental issues but she learned to lie given the home life she had. It’s common for kids in that situation to lie, lie lie…but it has nothing to do with being a psychopath or a murderer.
For people who continue to say Beaz didn’t prove anything, I say, neither did jeffie asston and that was his job, NOT Jose Baez’s. I would not buy jeffies book but I will buy numerous copies of Jose Baez’s because I very much respect his ethics and ability. Yes, Cheney Mason may have been a large part in the defense, but Baez had the proper protection of his client and did a superb job with all the odds against him (JBP/Stan the man/Yuri Melyuck…). He has Casey’s permission for the book, so he has the right to publish. Like it or not, Nation. All the comments about his ethnicity (not here) make me think there is racism there too. Just like it seems in Trayvon’s case. Zim, the Hispanic Jew, on the other hand, was deemed a white (hispanic), right off the bat. Very telling, as we all know, Jews are cousins to Palestinians.
The Law in this Country is still, innocent until proven guilty. She wasn’t proven to be so and people/news outlets still calling her a killer will find themselves in trouble someday. I bet they would be willing to call Baez then! Ya can’t just go around saying that about a person–even a person forced into the public eye. People are so wrong about her being a “public figure”.
Casey has every RIGHT to make money off her LIFE without it being considered making money off Caylee’s death. I hope she rakes it in someday. For what the State’s Attorney Office/gubmint did do her, I HOPE they also have to pay her big time. I doubt it is over.
This is a Nation of Laws and we are admired and replicated around the world due to our system. Imperfect, yes…but….I still believe that 10 should go free to save 1 innocent person. Most Americans believed in that once upon a time. That is what sets us apart from Syria and the like. Even the French jury system with professional juries is not fault proof and often professional juries become jaded. Does anyone stop to ask themselves WHY they are so enthralled with this girl? I never, and still haven’t, understood it. I doubt I ever will. Yet, so many of the same Casey supporters can’t seem to see that Zman’s case has clear and succinct proof that he shot the child, yet, they want him to get off scott free.
I predicted Casey would be acquitted and I predict Zman will be convicted.

This afternoon I got a phone call from the parish jail. I heard a recording asking if I’d accept the call. I all could heard is the name “John”. Well, I guess everybody knows a John..anyway, I was asked if I would accept charges. Well dang! lol I’m thinking about my friend’s husband John. I’m thinking well maybe I should accept it.
Hmm..sure enough, I accept it and hear the voice of this young guy, it wasn’t the John I thought! I was teed off to say the least..lol I started screaming at this kid, “do you know it cost me $8.99 to accept this call!! And you called the wrong number! What’s wrong with you!!” LOL
In his little meek voice, I could tell he wasn’t over 18yrs old. He’s like “yes Maam, I’m sorry”.
Then I said “well chit, I’m already being charged, do you want me to take a message? What number were you trying to call?” He says “I was trying to call 504-XXX-XXXX, I need to talk to Simone” I said, “Ok, what’s her number” He gave it to me. LOL Still in my gruff voice, I said, “now what do you want me to to tell her?!” LOL He tells me, “tell Simone that I need more money on phone acct, tell her not to forget to go to court on the 10th, and tell her I love her”. LOL
Chit! Why does this kid have to sound so nice, right?” So I yell back in the phone, “you be careful in there and stay out of trouble!” lol He’s like “yes maam”

So I said, “Okay..I’ll call her” So I called Simone and told her how UNHAPPY I was to have to pay $8.99 because her boyfriend called my phone number. She’s really sweet sounding too…very polite, said she was sorry..so I gave her the messages..She thanked me and apologized again.
So that’s my good deed for the day. I helped a little guy in jail who’s probably running some game on me.

On that audio, the lady said I heard the kid screaming. Also, some guy said to George do you need me to call 911, he said NO, I’ve already called 911, I NEED someone to help me restrain this guy. This is fact, it’s George’s written statement and that is PATHETIC, Trayvon was already dead.

No offense to people who use this drug but it is an amphetamine and is a Schedule II drug. Its in the same class as cocaine and crystal meth. Now..that’s a drug that’ll make you do crazy things. And it’s a fact that he’s been prescribed this drug for his ADHD and had it in his system on the night he shot TM.
Marijuana makes people mellow. Amphetamines makes them hyper. So I think it’s much more likely that GZ was the Aggressor.
And George acts like he’s worried about his wife?
He could have helped it at that time and didn’t.
He’s used to letting someone else take the heat, looks like.

If he had gone to the ER there wouldn;t be any guessing. The x-rays would have shown any damage.

On the 911 call George sounds agitated. Why didn’t they do a toxilogy test on him.
When you listen to that, THERE was something wrong with George!!
He was scared when Trayvon passed his truck, he was scared to walk down some dark lane and in court, he let his wife lie because he was scared of going to jail.
This man is so damn scared of everything, that’s another reason he souldn’t qualify fot night watchman.

Report states there were gunshot holes in the Nike sweatshirt and the Fruit of Loom Hooded shirt.
I wonder if both gunshot holes line up? If they do, that could possibly indicate TM was standing when he was shot. If he’s wrestling on the ground with GZ, would you think the shirts would be disheveled and not aligned?
