Please help find Patti Adkins
After working the second shift as the assembly line supervisor at a Honda plant, 29-year-old Patricia Adkins clocked out at midnight on June 29, 2001.
Patti, as she was often called, was never seen again. Friends say she had plans for the fourth of July holiday week with a married co-worker she’d been having an affair with. The two were allegedly headed to a remote part of Canada. When the single mother didn’t pick up her daughter as scheduled on July 8 family knew something was wrong. Police say the married co-worker is the only person of interest in Patti’s disappearance. Despite numerous interviews with him police have not gotten any closer to finding Patti.
It was reported on Discovery ID that between 2000-2001, Patti gave her boyfriend as much as $90,000.
When Patti’s sister called the man’s home, at first he said he didn’t know her then changed his mind. He and his wife talked to Patti’s sister for 45 minutes. She now feels that they kept her on the phone to gather information.
On the night she left her job for the last time, she swiped out at 12:00.19 AM without a thing in her hand. She told her sister that she wouldn’t need anything. Her married boyfriend, her “soul mate” would buy her whatever she needed when they got to Canada.
She was told to swipe out at work and walk directly to his truck. She was to slide in the back of his truck and hide under a bed cover so not to be seen by another co-worker who rides with him back and forth to work.
The co-worker’s friend confirmed the Boyfriend, dropped him off at his door that night and the boyfriend’s wife confirmed her husband was home with her just minutes later. Since this was a long 4th of July weekend for the Honda employees, the Wife claimed her husband did mostly odd jobs at their home except for Thursday, he went fishing with friends.
There isn’t any hard evidence to arrest Flowers but detectives did find a small drop of blood on the truck bedcover. The Marysville detectives have yet to attain a conclusive identification on the blood found because it’s so minute; described as the size of a splattered mosquito.
Although the circumstances are compelling the detectives are reluctant to bring the co-worker/boyfriend to face a Grand Jury. They want to make sure that this person is found guilty. As we know, double jeopardy.
On September 7, 2010, “The Columbus Dispatch” reports:
Case in brief
Patricia “Patti” Adkins, a 29-year-old single mother from Marysville and supervisor at the Honda of America plant, disappeared at midnight, June 29, 2001, after clocking out from work. She was never seen or heard from again. She has been declared legally dead. Despite exhaustive searches over several years across several counties, her body has never been found.
Keys to the case
Police have a suspect.
Patti had a longtime boyfriend who was married. She had told her closest friends and relatives that she was leaving with him for a weeklong trip to a remote part of Canada and that she wasn’t allowed to take anything with her. Detectives have what they believe is forensic evidence that places her in his pickup truck about the time of her disappearance. They are awaiting technological advances to better test it.

Co-Worker’s name is Brian Flowers.
Some have said “the wife was in on it….they talked on the phone with the sister for 45 minutes the husband and wife are both in on it…… “
Some others have said,”
Brian Flowers and his wife will get to live the rest of their lives always looking over their shoulders. The technology is coming… He’s going to go to jail. She gave him money, he used her, and when she started making demands… he got rid of her. She was sleeping with a married man, and she bought the stupid line that he would leave his wife. Sure, she’s a whore and an adulteress. But the penalty in this country for being an adulteress and a whore is not death. Not in THIS country.
“I happen to disagree with the above comment. I do not see Patti Adkins as a whore. She was a 29 year old mother with a beautiful 5yo daughter who just happened to fall in love with the wrong person.”
But the penalty for murder can, and likely will, involve death for Brian Flowers.
And even if he escapes justice in this life, he wil not escape it in the next. And his wife will have this on her head as well. I hope his wife realizes that now that he’s gotten away with it once… how easy would it be to make HER disappear if he considers her a loose end? He’s already cheated on her at least once, for a long period of time. What if he falls in love with the next mistress, and having a divorce isn’t convenient? Mrs. Flowers could end up going “missing” as well.
“Justice comes eventually. One way or the other”

It was mentioned in the show that Flowers moved to Canada. Hmm…that’s a good way to escape the death penalty. I’ve read that Canada will not extradict someone to the USA unless, the DP is taken off of the table.
hmmm…
Hi JB,
After I read your article I decided to dig and see if I could find anything. Im a little tired tonight, HOWEVER I clicked the topic link that you have in your article and oddly there was an ad that popped up for Match dot com. With a picture of a woman that looked eerily similar to Patti. Maybe some search bot that linked it to to topic forum? a match? Since I am married, I do not think my hubby would appreciate me joining match to find out
but I will try a link…well maybe not it looks like it will just take you to a banner
Anyways her “hat” is Ambs2006 and she is standing with a boy. Most likely not her, but it did get me thinking that it is possible that this was planned, If she gave him 90k maybe it was to start new somewhere else. He may not have been involved at all, it might have been her saying it to throw off her trail…IDK it is hard to search when you don’t have the family to correspond with and ask questions. Which is what we did with Eric Preimesberger over at the hinky. What an experience!! If you ever get a chance go back to the first month of that case. You will read the interactions with us and all the parties involved. The police believed
that Eric decided to up and leave, they were wrong.
Either way, it is sad for her daughter and family, my prayers are with them.
sorry, ambs2606, see I told you I am tired
Thanks MWM,
Interesting theory. Maybe she did just want to disappear? I didn’t know Val had a page up on her, I’ll check it out and Match.com too. lol.. Exactly.. not cool for you to join.
The whole thing with her leaving and not taking her clothes is just weird but people do crazy things.
I’m so tired too. I had a long day… I’m checking in and I’m checking out.
Goodnight
holy cow, that poor daughter! my prayers are with them, for even after years i am sure this great loss still travels with them daily
and yes JB and MWM, it could very well be that she wanted to slip away… but in cases like this i think it is less likely due to the fact that she had such a young child. i guess the best way to check that out is to see the type of relationship she had with her child and was she more likely to “leave” her for a man. A shame that way back when, technology was so unstable in assisting finding evidence. As you all seen in the recent trials, that is certainly not the case today. But I am all with you on the karma of the fact that murder will out… not one is that slick, eventually murder will out…
and no, joining that site might get you into a bit of hot water MWM, lolol maybe someone we know is a member and can check it out, but as you, it won’t be me, cuz my hubs would be pretty peeved too! hehe
hello ladies and all missionites hoping your all doing FANTASTIC!!
It’s true that Canada won’t extradite unless no death penalty. Charles Ng was kept here for a long time because of that. He’s a very dangerous man. He was finally extradited once it was promised no death penalty.
Hmmm. Looks like Charles Ng is on death row now.
Her cats hair was found under a newly purchased pick-up truck cover, cadaver dogs pick up a scent in the mans garden (indicating that although there was no body, a body could have lain there), she was not in debt as many are trying to imply, infact her bank accounts were very healthy and she still had a few thousand in the bank even after “loaning” him the 90k….sorry but there are too many ‘coincidences’ here to suggest that the poor girl had just ran off, let’s just hope that once the blood found on the truck cover can be properly processed that this man can be locked up once and for all.
Hi Kink,
Welcome to my blog. Like you, I think this married co-worker should be a very strong person of interest and suspect. Some people believe that Patti left on her own accord but I don’t think that’s true.
As a mother myself, I have a hard time believing any woman would leave their own child much less a good job plus her money in the bank.
I’m praying that the blood found on the truck cover will be matched too. If it belongs to her, I’m sure it’ll be hard to try that guy for her death without a body but I’m hoping the hinky circumstances tell the story and who knows?? Maybe somebody will talk?
Please come back to update us if you find out anything new.
Thanks for your comment,
TheJBMission~
Great Blog!! … Terrible Police Work in this case…This case should have been solved back when it was fresh 10 years ago. It is absurd that this man has not been arrested. The Police need to publicly display some exchanges she had with this guy. Emails? Letters..etc…something.
I cannot stand the camp who could possibly think that Patty Adkins planned this. If she did, why do people even care. The FBI is involved with this case, so it is pretty damned serious and I highly doubt that this is some movie where she is hiding. You’d have to be pretty damn stupid to even believe that. After watching “Disappeared” and following the case, one would have to be pretty illiterate to believe that this woman or the show, (which is a reputable program) would allow themselves to be taken for a ride. Also , it has been almost 10 years…it IS 10 years. So the camp who continues on with these stories or who are on Brian Flowers side are complicit to her murder. They’d believe anyone else who did not have a beautiful bi-racial child, but this one, oh, no, she is a criminal, Americans are sick-minded sociopaths and sometimes I am ashamed to be one. Find this woman and return to her family JUSTICE. That effer did this. He murdered her. That’s it. End of story. Let the FBI do their job and tell these midwestern dummies from denialland to plug it up!
Seriousminded,
Thanks for stopping by. You made a very good point, something that I failed to mention, Patti did have a bi-racial child. Thinking back 10years ago, this could have been the reason why there wasn’t more public outcry and demand for justice.
Like you, I don’t believe this girl left on her own. Do you know if the blood found on the cover of Brian Flower’s truck was ever identified?
I’m glad others are interested in this case. IMO, it’s pretty cut and dried.
This is crazy surely with new technology the police should of been able to identify whose blood was on the inside of the cover on Brian Flower’s truck or are they not going to bother doing anything about it. My thoughts go out to her family, no family should have to suffer this and have to read some of the comments made. All I can say is capture the murderer/s before they do it again. Hopefully for Brian Flower’s wife she is not keeping any secrets from the police or otherwise he might also decide to do her in one day if he is the murderer or anyone else for that matter like his fishing buddies.
Did anyone search the lake where the boyfriend went fishing?
I can say without reservation that Patti would NEVER leave her daughter to start a new life as suggested. Yes, her daughter is bi-racial but why on earth would that make a difference? Patti LOVED her daughter!!! Her daughter has grown to be a beautiful young woman and will start college in the fall… She misses her mom every single day of her life!!!
I also have no doubt that the “coworker” is responsible for her disappearance/murder! Her case remains open and is being monitored by the police and FBI! Technology will catch up and the blood found will help convict the monster responsible for this horrible crime!!!
Best Friend,
I’m sure her bi-racial daughter wouldn’t be a reason for her to pack up and leave. I can’t believe people would say such a thing. From what I’ve learned about Patti, she sounds like a hard-working, responsible young mother. It’s a shame, that there’s been no arrest in her case.
Her co-worker is the obvious perpetrator. I hope that you and her family get justice for Patti in the near future.
I bet if LE found her body, they would arrest that guy immediately.
I was wondering when the last time a search for Patti was done? I live about a half hour from Marysville and know people who work at Honda and this story has really moved me. I know sometimes there are anual searches for missing people and if there is ever another one for Patti, my family and i would love to help and be a part of the search.
5 Minutes alone with this guy and ill having him telling you exactly where the body is…. Too bad that isnt legal.
I know in this country we are all entitled to be held in the status of innocent until proven guilty and that really pains me to say when it comes to the married boyfriend…. As far as reasons for the boyfriend to harm or kill Patti- Patti told her sister that she was going to start collecting her loaned money in July- the month she disappeared. I believe that he felt that pressure of knowing that he was going to have to come up with and pay back all that money (and I get the feeling that he didn’t have any of it to pay back- there wasn’t even any evidence that he received it, so if it didn’t get deposited- did he or his wife have financial problems or just spent the money?- greed is a strong motivator for many things. Maybe he felt things coming to a head with the his knowing the expectations of payment of loaned money in July, using his secretive affair with Patti as an excuse to lure her to go away with him for days and in such an odd manor. Maybe his wife knew, maybe she didn’t and maybe he was afraid she would find out any or all of it. The facts are that she did have plans for the week with him; he was having a secretive affair with her; he owed her close to $90,000; she told her sister that she was going to start collecting that money in July; she was obviously a very trusting person and apparently didn’t see the red flags (when she was told to and left all of her belongings, her car, actually put herself in the back of his truck)- this guy obviously planned how he would do this and probably couldn’t believe that she was so trusting and actually went along with the plans that made it so easy to do with her what he did- but science doesn’t lie and that was her cat hair on the truck cover and since it was new, that was probably her blood also (I wish they would actively look and see if technology has caught up to him & find out if the blood can effectively be tested yet). Either way, family and friends are missing Patti, who sounds like she was a very trusting, loving and wonderful person (not a whore as some insensitive people were saying). I hope and pray that answers and justice will come soon for Patti’s family and friends, it is so long overdue…
Dear Friends.
Did they find out who the blood from BriansTruck belongs to?
When I saw the TV program, the DNA analyses was not good enough in that time
Maybe now?.
I also wonder who the other guy in truck is. I bet he also is involved somehow
Is there materiel now that can get Brian behind bars for good?
Please write me here also, to be sure I get a case update: mcomdk@gmail.com
My Best regards to all good people in the US, who want to help the Adkins Family.
Morten from Denmark
He had her hide in back of truck so he’d have an alibi!!!, when they asked him about giving her a ride after work he planned on saying no you can ask my buddy he rode home with me straight from work! Smart, however he didn’t know she would tell people that he asked her to Hide in the bed of truck!!!! GUILTY! Omg it is SO OBVIOUS THAT THIS MAN KILLED HER!I’m with you on that! He purposely had her hide so that when quested he would have an alibi!! I don’t understand why the entire truck wasn’t seized & analyzed?? What the hell! What about the corners of the bed of truck & fingerprints from her on the bottom of the bed or sides of it??? I hope to god they did analyze the ENTIRE TRUCK & not just the cover! I’m so irritated that they didn’t mention doing so! I mean is it not completely obvious he had her hide there so his friend could corroborate his alibi! He didn’t know she would tell anyone! But she did so they should be able to nail him with the fact her cats hair was found there bc umm that is sooo f’ing obvious that that was his plan! He is a murderer & a thief & he just walked away free! Omg I am so mad about this case I keep rambling bc I’m so mad I can’t think straight! I don’t know how the family lives knowing that man murdered their baby sis & he is walking around scot free! It makes my blood boil! Please find her & enough evidence to lock this man up!!!
I agree with Kaysi, Flowers was very cunning and smart. Here’s how to get him.
1. Check his cell phone records, if he didn’t turn it off it would ping of towers where he was that evening and that could lead to Patti’s body. He’s smart in such a sick way- he would have had a shovel hidden in the area where he planned to bury her just in case he was stopped he wouldn’t have it with him. I guarantee you he was missing a shovel at home.
2. This sick bastard had to make sure what happened at honda that night was not captured on video. Here’s how he found out if there were parking lot cameras for sure. He got chummy with the Security guys there and asked them, or he staged a fake damage report to his vehicle earlier in the year to see for sure if there were any camera and possibly hidden cameras.
3. The police did not search well enough in the area. With the time it took Flowers to leave Honda, go the Burger King with his work buddy and them take him home he could have only driven her so far away.
4. The blood spec? hmmm. Its taking so long and I am finding it hard to believe that the technology isn’t available yet.
5. The cat hairs in the tonneau cover? Slam dunk!
6. Did the police check Flowers financial background thoroughly? I mean all purchases in the past 2 yrs leading up to the murder?
7. This guy is very smart, did the cadaver dogs smell his truck? Not sure that was done.
8. Was his computer checked?
9. His mailed should have been checked to that can tell you alot and of course his garbage should have been checked for a year after.
10. Did Patti ever tell her sisters or friend of any place that Flowers and she meet at? That may turn something up.

@KC…. I would join you.
I just watched the Patti Adkins story on Disappeared and I, too, am appauled (like many) that the cat hair found in the truck isnt evidence enough. How else would HER pet’s hair get there?
….. Stone.. Here’s another question/theory to add to your list (which are ALL great questions!): Pertaining to the police dog… Question: Leftover concrete from WHAT construction project? Where is the rest of that concrete poured? And what shovel or tools did they use? Was the dog ever given the opportunity to sniff the shovel (or other tools used) or sniff the original construction project, for that matter? Those dogs are pretty darn good at what they are trained to do. Perhaps the police DID follow up on this and they just couldn’t cover it in the confines on an hour long tv show? But this detail has bugged me and I can’t stop thinking about it. It sounded like that dog was ON to something! We can only hope they DID exhaust all possibilities with that avenue. God bless Patti’s family and friends with a resolution to this mystery- so they may find closure and move on. —-
